KINGSTON, Jamaica- The National Stadium will be the venue for two World Athletics Continental Tour ‘Challenger’ meetings, one in March and the other in April, as World Athletics released a calendar of 180 meets for the 2023 season.
The Velocity Fest meets set for March 25th and April 22nd were included on the schedule for what will be the biggest calendar ever, according to
The Velocity Fest meetings, which started two years ago, are organised by the MVP Track Club with track and field entrepreneur Bruce James, the
chairman of the organising committee.
The meets have been divided into four levels – Gold, Silver, Bronze and Challenger.
The schedule of Gold meetings has increased by two, with the tour’s top tier now comprising 14 events spread across five continents, a release said.
New additions to the tour include Melbourne (23 February), St George’s in Grenada (22 April) and Gaborone (29 April). The tour concludes in Zagreb from 8-10 September.
